The Personality Behind The Outfits

I honestly believe Instagram captions, brief tweets and filtered images sometimes aren't enough to allow us to truly get to know one another.

Grab a cup of something tasty, perch yourself comfortably and let's talk as if we're together in a quaint coffee shop!

1. Whilst I'm a (sometimes) gutsy person, I really dislike confrontation. In fact, I literally die inside if I'm in a restaurant and the person I'm with complains. Can you medically cringe to death?

2. A bunch of fresh flowers makes my heart so so happy, I'm forever prone to popping out and picking up (yet another) bunch of tulips or roses, much to the dismay of my family.

3. I dropped out of university, and I'm proud of it.

4. Peter is my first serious boyfriend, before him no one intentionally pursued me, which seems heartbreaking when you're 21 but trust me, the wait was worth it!

5. Meat, particularly chicken grosses me out. In fact, I haven't cooked chicken at home in over a year. Odd, but I can go months without eating any meat and it won't bother me in the slightest. My health is very important to me, and my eating habits are something I want to hone in months to come.

6. I lived in Italy for 4 months traveling around as an au pair on a yacht and flying on a private plane. It opened my eyes immensely to the fleeting happiness that money brings and certainly taught me to be wise about who I choose as a life partner.

7. My goals in life are so big it scares me. I've days, even weeks where I'm untouchable and not one seed of doubt will challenge what I want to achieve. On other days, I feel drained and skeptical but I've learnt it's truly imperative to learn something from every situation you find yourself in, especially the bad. In life, sometimes the best things come from the hardest decisions.

8. I love living beside green fields and a farm, despite the questionable noises and smells. But in truth, I would love to live in a city. My favourite would be London, or NYC although I'm not sure I would survive their apocalyptic winters. So, London calling? We'll see.

9. Hugo my silky black cat is treated like my child. I speak to him in an embarrassing voice only other pet owners will understand. Last month he had the smallest injury that required stitches, it took every fibre of my being not to cry in the vets. Yes - I'm that sobbing mess in the vets.

10. I love the Internet. My heart swells with happiness when I think of how many wonderful people I've met through it. We as normal people can uplift and inspire each other as we walk through life, share stories and touch others lives in ways we couldn't if we didn't have the web. What a beautiful thing!

Finally - I am so incredibly passionate about seeing you succeed. I want you to feel empowered, driven and full of true joy. It has taken me years to realise this, and now as I type the words my eyes dance with excitement at the very thought of it. Together, let's seek more.

Thanks for reading you lovely person, as always, I appreciate it.

  1. Aw I love this post so much! It's so nice to get to know more about you, dear! Some things I had no idea! How was it as an au pair in Italy? And how was it in general in Italy?

We share some similarities though! I cannot eat chicken (mostly due to some health issues I have but eeeek just no!), I hate confrontation as well (and the USA is the land of confrontation so I'm often hiding my head in my jacket as it happens around me haha!), I lived in a foreign country too like you (Japan), and have gotten to know so many amazing people online as well (esp including you!).

Awww your ending note really is so touching, and I feel the same way! I want others to succeed and want to support and empower them and help them realize their own self worth! Although I really should listen to it myself haha I love listening to other people's stories and what they've done and their dreams or whatever! :) xoxo
